11 September 2015 - home time

We packed our bags and went home. I had a great time exploring Malta.

My family and I on the ferry leaving Gozo.😭

10 September 2015 - Our last day exploring Malta

In the morning we went to Rabat so I could buy a few things for my class. I also bought a letting for my school bag.

My dad and I went for a quick hike up the Salvatore. You don't need proper hiking gear and even if you did you could get any because I'm pretty sure there's no hiking shops in Gozo it Malta. It was very tiring but only took 9 minutes to climb up, and twenty minutes to climb down.

Then we went to Marsalforn for our last lunch. We ate at Murella, and I got a colouring page which had a starfish and under the sea theme.

Spag Bol!

We went home so I could rest while mum and dad packed our bags.

In the evening, we visited Katrina and Paul's. We said bye to them.

We watched the sunset from Ta'Pinu, at the stations of the cross it's a very steep hill with stature of what Jesus went though when he was crucified. There were 13 statues.

This is the statue where the soldiers take the clothes away from Jesus

We had our last dinner in Gozo at the Boat House in Xlendi. Lucy slept nearly the whole time then woke up and ate our chips.

9 September 2015 - A storm in Gozo

We went to Anna and Ben's house but they weren't home so dad decided to take me to a few places. We went to a small shop to say hello to an old lady that recognised my dad because he looks like his mum and her brothers. We then drive past where my great nannu lived, and followed the street onto a dirt track  (which was the scariest way to get to Ramla!). We saw how rough Ramla was after the storm. We visited a toy museum with toys from the early 1900s.

After that we went home to start packing because it's our second last day.

Dad went back out to help his uncle and there was a massive storm. Heaps of water leaked into the house.
A picture of our street after the storm

We went to visit Anna and Saviour's house. They had a bird called Rio and tortoise called Fekruna!

We went to Anna and Ben's house. My second cousins were doing arts and crafts. They have a fluffy cat called Blue.

We went to Pepe and Rita's actual house, not their room in the field. We ate chicken and vegetables roasted in a wood fire oven. I played with my best friend from Malta whose name is Liam. I got in trouble heaps of times because we were chasing through the house.

8 September 2015 - Festa of Our Lady of Victories

There was a march and the band in the afternoon and it was very hot so we went behind the Church into the shade. Mum and I went into the crowd once the march made it back into the piazza. It was crazy but lots of fun!

The Statue of Madonna 'Marija Bambina' which is the most holy and special statue in Xaghra came out of the church.

We went up the bell tower of the Xaghra church which from the ground doesn't look that high but when you are up there it is much higher.

It started to rain and everyone ran for cover and me mum and dad think we should have videoed it because it was so funny.

6 September 2015 - Father's Day

Dad went to watch the horse races called the 'tigrija'. He came home late in the morning. I gave him a picture because it was Father's Day. We spoke to grandpa. Dad accidentally threw me in the pool, again.

We had chicken soup for lunch.

We went to Ramla for a swim together. We swam on the Nadur side today.

We went home and had a rest.

I ate chicken and chips from the BBQ bar while we walked down to the church.

That night, my dad carried one of the statues from the Nazzarenu church which is on one side of Xaghra to the main church in the middle Xaghra. I was very happy with dad because the statue must have weighed a lot.

7 September 2015 - Monday

Today was a special event for the feast. We watched the reenactment of the great siege of Malta 450 years ago in 1565, the plague, and World War II.
It was hot and I found a great place to sit away from every one else with a good view of the play. There were lots of people at the play.

Can you see me?

We went Marsalforn with Uncke Michael and Aunty Jenny for lunch. I had a salmon salad. It will the last one for a long time...

At night we watched the fireworks and they were fantastic, except for the last part where I threw up my salmon salad.

These are some pictures from the fireworks:

4 September 2015 - a swim in the pool and the Xaghra feast

This morning me and my dad went to Ta'Hmira because my dad had to install an alarm. We bought some ftira which Is Maltese pizza. When we got Home the Debono family came to our house for lunch and a swim. The Mum's and Dad's played uno while the kids had a swim and later everyone came in the pool.

When the Debono family left, dad had to go with them so he could finish his job at Ta'Hmira. When we came back to pick up my dad he still wasn't done yet so my mum and I went for a walk in the paddock's and I found an onion.

We went to the Xaghra Festa for dinner and we ate at a restaurant called oleander and I had some spaghetti Bolognese with some with some butter from the bread they gave us.

While we were having dinner the Orchestra instead of marching around Xaghra played in a square shaped box.

5 September 2015 - Ramla and the emmigrant's mass

This morning we went to Ramla for a swim. When we got back home I had a little swim in the pool and dad accidentally threw me into the pool. After my swim in the pool we had some lunch.

We had a rest and we went to church. There was a special mass for people who come from a different country and some of it was said in English. It was called the emigrants mass.

3 September 2015 - Splash and Fun

In the morning, we had to wake up very early. Mum dropped dad and I at the ferry and we went to Malta. We met our friends on the ferry, and together we drove to a water park called Splash and Fun, where you splash with fun.

We went on some water slides. One was really big and looked scary but then I got used to it and it was more like a bit boring. It was black and so it was dark inside it, and you went down it in a blow up raft. I had to carry it up the stairs each time with my friend Brodie.

The was a ride called the lazy river, there were tyres filled with air to hang on to and a big wave pool. It was really wavy. On one of the water slides, I kept sliding on my hands and knees because it made me go faster.

We came home later that afternoon and after a really short nap, we went to the piazza. We met Uncle Michael and Aunty Jenny for dinner at Oleander, and I ate spaghetti with cheese. The band was playing in the piazza and there were some fireworks at midnight.

2 September 2015 - Sliema and Valetta, Malta

This morning we were watching the clock because we had planned to go on the ferry to Malta.
On the ferry

When we got there it was already morning tea so I had a ham and cheese toasty at a cafe. We did some shopping at Sliema. Sliema is a big shopping area and has a marina with lots of boats.
Where's Isaac?

I had a margarita pizza for lunch at a nice restaurant.
Yum!

We went to Valetta. That is the capital city of Malta. It's very big and quite old. Valetta is a shipping port.

We finished our visit to Valetta with afternoon tea at Cafe Regina, and old cafe from 1837.
Fruit tart

At the festa in the night time, Mum bought us some takeaway food and we followed the band and procession with the statue of the holy Mary. When we got tot the end, the statue was lifted up and everyone danced, sang festa songs, and lit firecrackers. I was on my dad's shoulders and it was heaps of fun. I was really tired by the end.

31 August 2015 - Ramla, a swim in the pool and Qbajjar

This morning we went to Ramla for a swim, and we were there for quite a long time. At lunch I had a ham and bean sandwich with cherry tomatoes, and a plum for dessert. In the afternoon we had a swim in the pool as our friends Brodie, Jayden, Dylan and Jackson came over. When they left, Jackson had left his swimmers behind. I had a little rest after my swim. Later I went to Ta'Hmira, and we saw dads uncles there, and Lucy had a little ride on their goat! We then went to Qbajjar Restaurant for dinner. I shared a ginormous fish with my mum and dad.

1 September - Ramla and bottle soccer

This morning we went to Ramla for a swim. When we got back home we had lunch and for lunch I had some ham and pepper cheese on bread.

After lunch mum and dad had a afternoon nap but I only had a rest. I have been reading a book series called The Last Thirteen and I'm now up to book 4.

We went for a drive to Ta'Cenc and while we were there, there was a main road that spit up into very rocky roads, and all of a sudden mum said stop, look at the sun, and the sun turned a bright orange colour. We all decided to got out of the car and go to the edge of the high cliff to watch the very beautiful sunset.

For dinner we went to the Xaghra piazza and I thought there were going to be fireworks but there weren't. The piazza was fully packed with over one hundred people and lots of tables. The road was closed so all the tables could fit on the street. The was a big decorated stage that a band was playing on, and the music was very loud and you had to yell to speak to people. After dinner I played bottle soccer with my friend Brodie.
